The Dominican University Nursing Class of December 2019 has established a scholarship in memory of their classmate Maya, who tragically lost her life on December 26, 2017. Thanks in large part to a generous gift from the Thone family, the Maya Thone Memorial Scholarship Fund has the potential to benefit nursing students at Dominican University of California for years to come.
Maya would have been a junior in her next semester, and while she was not able to complete nursing school and go on to fulfill her goals of serving the community as a nurse, our wish is that in her memory, this fund can help many students fulfill their dreams of completing their RN program and becoming nurses. We hope that with this scholarship, each recipient finds it just a little bit easier to manage the demands and the high cost of nursing school.
Our goal is to raise $1,500 dollars by December 20, 2019. Your generous donation will be matched dollar for dollar up to $750.
